This Spelt and Rye Loaf is so easy, anybody can do it. It’s made completely in the bread machine.I weigh all my ingredients.
Spelt Rye Loaf
Ingredients:
- 230 grams of Spelt flour
- 205 grams of Rye flour
- 220 grams sourdough starter
- 230 grams water
- 15 grams of sea salt
- 17 grams of butter/ghee or olive oil
Add the ingredients to the bread pan in the order specified by your manufacturer.
I like to add some syrup – date, honey or molasses about 1/4 cup, or a bit less.
I throw in some seeds to the family liking, (sesame, pumpkin sunflower etc) add some chia seeds. I also love caraway seeds so I add about 4 grams worth.
I set my machine on dough. Once the dough cycle is complete, I let the dough sit about 4-5 hours and then set the machine to bake.
